Boessert/Schornzuletzt aktualisiert 6 Februar 2009The label Boessert/Schorn are the two designers Sonia Boessert and Brigitte Schorn. They studied fashion-design at Hochschule für Kunst und Design, Halle, Germany. They took part at 18th festival des arts de la mode in Hyeres, France, at beck's fashion experience, Berlin in 2005. They are nominated for Karstadt New Generation Award 2008 in Berlin. Since 2006 they show their collection regulary at Berlin fashion week and Tokyo fashion week.
When they develop their designs, the handcraft techniks are always very important. They decide their styles. Boessert/Schorn work a lot with knit, often knit parts or ribbons which are worked into other material, for example they did necklace out of knit strings, which reminds at childrens first knit-work-tryings. Often they do elaborate needlework, for example handstitch pattern, which forms the fabric into necklace. Rough handmade embroidery looks like patched. Sometimes they use old traditional techniks, like makramee; sometimes new techniks, which pretend to be something old, like cutting into jersey to get a pattern out of holes. It looks a bit like valueable lace. Boessert/Schorn develop methods of working and pattern for more than one collection, - often the ideas results from the earlier work and they carry this on. Although the technik is central in their work, it has to subordinate to the style. They like oversized shirts and sweaters, sometimes unisex, it has to function in everydays life. (They test their clothes by theirselfes, - they must functioning and be wearable.) Boessert/Schorn like to use natural material like cotton or wool, often jersey with open rolled hem. They prefer muted colours, crumpled material, unobtrusiveness, nonchalance, contradiction. 39 Shops für Boessert/Schorn
